As part of our commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), our Grade 3 and 4 students listened to or read the lyrical story-poem, written in both Anishinaabemowin and English. The story explores the changing seasons and our connection to the land. After engaging with the story, the students reflected on how we recognize the shift in seasons. They discussed the clues and hints we see when spring is on its way—such as the warming weather, blooming flowers, and the return of animals—highlighting the deep bond we share with nature and the land around us. Through this experience, we honor Indigenous perspectives and deepen our understanding of the natural world.
