Welcome (back) to Another Great School year at Penbrooke Meadows! 

I hope all students and families had a wonderful summer and are excited to be back at school together starting Tuesday, September 2. Teachers arrived back yesterday and are busy setting up and planning for a great year together. 

As we have done in the past, teachers will be reaching out to families to introduce themselves and learn a little about their new students. You will be receiving a phone call (or email if they are unable to connect with you) either today or tomorrow. If you have not heard from the teacher by 1pm on Friday, August 29th, please check your junk mail folder as sometimes our messages get caught by filters, and if not, call the office and we will be happy to help you connect. 

There will be a couple of new faces on staff this year and many familiar ones. We will finalize staffing once we confirm students numbers so there may still be some additions but we will share those if/when they occur.

As many will remember, we do have a new school bus route this year which will require some changes in our parking and morning door supervision. As usual, the front doors will be open at 7:30am until 7:45am for those students coming for breakfast program. Please make sure students are not arriving before 7:30am as the door will not be supervised yet. 

If students arrive between 7:45am and 8:00am, there will be two doors open, one set on each side of the building. On the south side of the building students will use the division one doors and on the north side of the building, students will use the grade 3/4 doors. Students are welcome to use the doors closest to them. After 8:00am all students and visitors use the front door and ring the door bell for entry. 

There are new parking signs on the street in front of the school. There is now a much longer bus zone in order to accommodate our buses to safely load and unload students. Parents who are driving students and picking up after school are asked to watch for the signs. There is more parking available on Pensacola Way. Please do not park or pull into the parking lot as it is a safety issue for students and staff. 

The school calendar will be posted on the website by Tuesday, but we know many families like to have a copy to download or print so we have attached one here. The website is the best source of upcoming events and information throughout the year so we encourage you to check it regularly.
